Built with Patience, Laughter, and Love

We, the owners of the house, are Dorinel and Rodica, and we live in Sweden.
Dorinel is 60 years old and Rodica is 53 years old. Between 2020 and 2022, we built our house in Kamenari, Montenegro.

It was not an easy process. There was bureaucracy, waiting, detours and misunderstandings.
But also laughter, late nights with drawings over the kitchen table, many trips to Montenegro in the middle of the pandemic, conversations with local builders who we became friends with.

We learned more than we thought we could – about patience, about daring, about letting go of control.

And during all this, our love for the place grew. We found our little routines – the morning coffee on the terrace in the sun, the walk down to the bakery and the sea, the sound of the wind through the trees.

It became more than a building. It became a home, an anchor, something that still feels a little surreal.

When we are there now, it feels as if the world stops when we stand on our plot. No noise, no stress. Just us, our house and the feeling that we did something brave – something that started as a thought and became a life. We built a house in Montenegro. But actually it was we who were built, piece by piece, there on the coast with a fantastic view of the sea. From spring 2026 we feel ready to share our home, this amazing place with you.
